After failed attempts at just trying to draw the girl's head in perspective, I decided to actually sculpt a mini head to help me with the dimensions...and holy moly it helped SO MUCH! I highly recommend actually sculpting out designs to fully understand how they look in 3D.

The drawings at the top are pre-sculpture experience. Her head was not looking how I wanted it to...and I just could not get the whole turning-in-3D concept without having the physical piece in my hands.

And since this exercise was so helpful with the girl, I went ahead and tried it with the guy character. In my original designs I wanted him to have that little tuft of hair but after sculpting his head, I realized it will probably just end up being a hassle in animation. But who knows, I may bring it back lol.
